Learn how you can participate in the STEPS2 study
Online Wednesday, September 25, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Are you between the ages of 16 and 27 and have an intellectual or developmental disability? Are you looking to learn about your physical health and nutrition or socializing, and sexuality? You may want to participate in the STEPS2 study. It aims to test the effectiveness of a health education curriculum for young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Those who join the STEPS2 study will either receive Steps to Your Health (STYH) classes, which teach about exercise and nutrition, or Socialization To Enhance Participation and Support Sexuality (STEPS2) classes, which teach about decision-making, sexual health, and healthy relationships. This is a randomized trial through the National Institute of Health, so participants will be assigned to a learning group rather than choosing one.
