Learn how a guardian can help protect the interests of an intellectually or developmentally disabled adult and make decisions for them when they cannot do so for themselves.

Presenter Johanna O’Brien, Special Projects Coordinator for NYS Surrogate’s Court, will walk you through the 17-A Guardianship process, from preparation to paperwork to evaluations. Stacy Mason, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and LIFEPlan Hudson Valley Member and Family Advisory Council Regional Liaison, will share her experience as a parent pursuing 17-A Guardianship.
