Together, this team provides essential nursing and medical health expertise across the organization. Through the internal Clinical Consultation process, they partner closely with Care Management staff to offer guidance on complex member situations, supporting teams as they navigate challenging clinical issues, assess risk, and identify appropriate interventions.
Beyond individual member support, our nurses contribute their expertise to a wide range of health promotion and population health initiatives. Their work supports projects and strategies that emphasize prevention, wellness, and improved long-term health outcomes, ensuring our members receive coordinated, informed, and person-centered care.
Our nurses also serve as trusted clinical resources, mentors, and advocates. By bridging clinical expertise with care coordination, they reinforce best practices and strengthen collaboration across teams. Their leadership and dedication enhance our ability to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care every day.
In addition to their internal roles, the entire nursing team are members of the New York State IDDD Nurses Association, with many actively involved in their local zones and serving on the association’s board. This organization provides a supportive professional network for nurses specializing in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), promoting professional growth through education, research, and networking opportunities.
All of the nurses on our team are also affiliated with the national organization, the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA), a nursing specialty organization committed to advocacy, education, and professional support for nurses serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
During Nurses Week—and throughout the year—we extend our sincere appreciation to our nursing team for their professionalism, compassion, and steadfast commitment to the health and well-being of the members and teams they support.
Thank you for all that you do.
