A Place Where You Don’t Have to Say “I’m Sorry.”
Luis Abramson is always on the lookout for new support opportunities for his son Matthew, who is on the Autism spectrum. Finding an accepting and inviting place to play is high on the list of needs for Matthew, and for other children with Autism or various abilities.
Recently, Luis and Matthew stopped by the We Rock the Spectrum gym on Main Street in New Rochelle. In this newly established business, children with autism and all kinds of ability, can have fun and be themselves in a safe and accepting environment. We Rock the Spectrum, a franchise based out of California, is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to foster learning, exploration and safe sensory experiences.
The gym offers activities such as:
- Climbing apparatus
- Swings
- Sensory objects
- Trampoline
- Zip Line
- And a calming room
Anna Bourdon is the owner of We Rock the Spectrum – New Rochelle. As the mother of a child on the spectrum, Anna fell love with the mission to provide a place where you never have to say “I’m sorry”!
She decided to open a We Rock the Spectrum gym in her hometown of New Rochelle, so kids on the spectrum have a safe place to play. At this time, We Rock the Spectrum gyms are in two other New York locations – Staten Island and Ballston Spa.
During his visit, Luis noted, “I witnessed children making new friends as their parents connected with one another. Community resources like these for children on the spectrum become more than just a gym”.
We Rock the Spectrum – New Rochelle, and other community resources can be found on the LIFEPlan Event Board. Learn more about We Rock the Spectrum in this video or at the corporate website.
