Pictures Worth a Thousand Words

Carol is a LIFEPlan member from Binghamton whose dad passed away when she was 4 years old. Among her fondest memories are those of her father behind the lens of his camera. He was an avid photographer and Carol loved looking at his beautiful pictures.

Inspired by her father’s work, Carol wanted to take pictures like he did, but hadn’t really acted on that inspiration. That changed this year when she received a camera from her sister. “Carol was so thrilled,” said Sarah Fodsdick, LIFEPlan Care Manager, that she began taking photos wherever she goes.” Carol calls this her Snap it and Go missions.

“Carol has an eye for photography and takes GREAT pictures,” Sarah said. Carol enjoys taking pictures and creating gifts for her friends. Carol does not have a favorite subject matter as she finds beauty in all things.

Carol was encouraged by people who have seen her work to enter into a contest sponsored by the local Arc. Carol entered two of her photos. Though she did not win, Carol was thrilled to attend the reception with one of her friends where her photos were on display. Carol was not discouraged, and said, “I will be entering the contest again next year.”

Carol is excited about the possibilities photography is bringing to her, and hopes to have her work displayed in a gallery in the near future.

Keep everything in focus, Carol. We can’t wait to see more of your wonderful work!
