Self Directed Services

On March 31, 2021, LIFEPlan hosted a educational webinar with a focus on self-directed services. This webinar was presented by Kristin Kukula and Olivia Layton of Advocates, Inc., Lindsey Sprague, LIFEPlan Care Management Program Coordinator and Amanda Barnes, parent and Member & Family Advisory Council Regional Liaison.

The purpose of the webinar was to help our members and their families better understand how to access self-directed services. It also clarified the role of the Care Manager is in the process.  We then touched on the the critical part parents and self-advocates play in a successful program.  

One of the handy tools that we developed is an easy to understand infographic that helps to break down the process from start to finish. This tool also defines each of the team members’ roles and responsibilities. The road map also provides additional resources members can access for more information. We hope these additional learning resources help our members to be better informed.  They should also help our members speak with their Care Manager.
